MERCURIADOS -

10/03/2008

On 25/3/07, a group of Spanish people, tired of continuous uninformed and misinformed use of dangerous dental materials, lack of training and interest on the part of medical personnel to detect and treat problems derived (or aggravated) by these materials, and fed up with the strange ability of Health Authorities 'to look the other way'... created the association MERCURIADOS. MERCURIADOS is a national, public, non-confessional, non-political and non-profit association of people injured, mainly by mercury from dental amalgam fillings (Asociación Española de Afectados por Mercurio de Amalgamas Dentales y Otras Situaciones), and it means "Spanish Association of People Injured by the Mercury of Dental Amalgam Fillings and Other Sources". This association is composed of hundreds of people from all over Spain (including dentists, dentists' assistants, and medical personnel) with diverse origins and personal and professional backgrounds, but with a common nexus: the fact of being injured by mercury, mainly from having dental amalgam fillings or through handling mercury in the workplace. The main objectives of MERCURIADOS are: (1) To inform about the risks of mercury, particularly the mercury that evaporates from dental amalgam fillings, and (2) To create a free and public arena for opinion-reflection on the dental mercury issue, in order to share experiences and to exchange research information amongst the injured ones, the medical staff and therapists, as well as researchers. We invite you to learn more about MERCURIADOS association in www.mercuriados.org Maybe you will find it useful for you and/or your loved ones.
